LAUGHING OUTLAW RECORDS

Hi All,

Pretty chuffed to announce that I've signed with Laughing Outlaw Records, who will be releasing my next album . Very happy to now be labelmates with the likes of Perry Keyes, Jason Walker, Halfway, Grand Atlantic & Dave McCormack. Good Times!

Im still busy working on the 3rd album and have finished tracking 14 songs. Its all starting to come together nicely and will be sent to mixing with Michael Carpenter shortly. More news as it comes to hand folks!

THE CORONAS SUPPORT

Just been confirmed as the main support for one of Irelands biggest rock bands right now 'The Coronas'. They recently won album of the year at the Meteor Music Awards, beating Snow Patrol & U2. UPDATES GALORE!

Its been a long time since a last proper update, I know. Ive had many of you asking whats been going on, so here goes.

2009 was quite hectic with my non musical life (I gots married!) and the music was put a bit on the back burner. It was a good break to be honest. I did manage to go back to my beloved Spain... and do an amazing tour. Plus started recording the new album in May '09. I only played 2 Sydney shows last year which took me by surprise when I really thought about it. In that time we said goodbye and a hearty thanks to drummers Mick McGinty, Jeff Doukakis & guitarist Tim Holt. Much Good times and good music was had with that lot.

Ive finally gone back to the studio this past weekend after nearly a year since my last session. I decided to approach this next record really differently and record as much of the album live (incl. Vocals) as possible. Straight to analog tape with up to 6 people playing at the same time. This has been quite a challenge but have been smart enough to sorround myself with some of Sydney's finest like Brian Crouch, Scott Barr, Russell Crawford, Jadey O'Regan, Tim Byron, Graeme Trewin, Jason Walker, Tom Stone & Larissa McKay. These guys make me look/sound good and make it seem so easy.

So, the album is still only about 60% done but its taking shape nicely. Its some of my strongest songs so far (well, thats what my ego tells me!). I'm getting excited at the prospects of getting it out to you folks. Still not sure when (late this year sometime) but I'm sure you will hear all my updates.

Finally, I'm happy to say that I'll be supporting my good and extremely talented mate Russell Crawford on his album launch on Friday, April 9 @ The Supper Club, Oxford St. Darlinghurst. Russ played some smoking drums on this new album but he will dazzle you with a whole lot more at this gig. Believe me. Buy his album.

GRACIAS SPAIN!

I would like to extend a very hearty thank you to the good people of Spain for helping make this years tour an unforgettable one. There were many highlights and we were all genulnely blown away by the reception we got at each show.

Special thanks to the band of Santi Campos, Brian Crouch, Jon & Toni Zuriaga. Also much gratitude to Pablo Carrero and all the promoters and venues for each show.

SPAIN 2009 TOUR!

Hi everybody,

I'm excited to announce that I will be returning to Spain in September this year, for what is shaping up to be my biggest Spanish tour so far! I'll be travelling up and down the country with Brian Crouch on keys/translation, Santi Campos on Guitar (Amigos Imaginarios) and Jonathan & Toni Zuriaga on Bass & Drums (CosmopoliANTS). I'll also be joined by my Popboomerang label mate and good friend Adrian Whitehead, who will be opening the Madrid show.

3RD ALBUM

This year has been a quiet one for me, especially after a busy year promoting 'Sunday Best' to the old and new last year. But, It has been a special one for me too, as I married my sweetheart and I travelled through South America earlier this year. Good Times. Good news is that I have also started recording the 1st half of my 3rd solo album at Linear Recordings with Chris Vallejo (Josh Pyke, Empire of the Sun) and happy to say that the great Michael Carpenter will be mixing the album. I have no set release dates and will let this record brew in its own time. I will give more updates and insight into this new one in future album updates but in the meantime heres a video link below of one of the takes for new song 'Purple Patch' to help wet the appetite a little!
